The Beacon of Information & Communications Technology Awards (BoICT) is organised by the Nigeria Communications Week Newspaper. BoICT Awards is an annual industry wide celebration of deserving talents, contributions and commitments to the growth of the ICT industry.
According to the editor of Nigeria Communications Week Newspaper ;Ken Nwogbo, the awards have been designed primarily to recognize government and business organizations as well as individuals for their creativity and excellence in the application of ICTs and solutions to provide efficient and high-quality services to Nigerians. The awards are based on online votes cast by thousands of Nigerians, made up of consumers of ICT products and services, the industry, media and the general public.
The event was graced by top Nigerian leaders such as Engr. Ernest Ndukwe; Executive Vice Chairman of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Engr. Yomi Bolarinwa; Director General of National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), National Copyright Commission (NCC) and National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
